Loving… shared local food and kindness.
Wonderful and kind people, bringing shared and much appreciated food. A jar full of honey, an armload of fragrant basil, green tomato chutney, a bucket of red tomatoes, garlic, garlic garlic, a bowl of blackberries and a divine blackberry vinegar.
Cuttings, seedlings and favourite seeds. In a transition period when things can often feel different, unsure and completely out of place- being given these locally grown gifts for immediate nourishment and long term edible growing, it’s something that is incredibly grounding.
Brings a smile to the face and a fullness in the heart that no Westfield shopping expedition could ever hope to replicate.
Nope, not ever.

What are you loving at the moment?
[“Often life’s pleasures pass us by simply because we don’t take a moment to focus on them… Make a point of noticing everyday something that uplifts your spirit or tickles your heart… Stop to breathe in the joy of this moment and then tell someone about it. Share your joy and revel in it. When your joy is savoured, and then shared, it is magnified…” ROBIN GRILLE]
There’s nothing like it is there? I think that the sharing of food with community taps into the essence of what we need as human beings – nourishing food, connection with the environment, and positive relationships. A lovely post to read with my morning coffee, thanks Brydie ☺️

Alas, some of that was from family and travelling through friends, but am hoping to extend on the food giving community folks in these parts because makes me seriously happy.

I absolutely adore this Brydie. You are so right. There’s nothing like the warmth and generosity that comes from a shared table, knobbly homegrown produce left on the doorstep, chutney poured into recycled jars from your neighbour’s tiny kitchen. So, so glad that you’ve been embraced by the best kind of community. Thanks for sharing these sweet thoughts!
At the moment I’m loving: gifted tomatoes from my mumma’s backyard, tangled roots from celery sticks that I’m sprouting in a tomato tin, nut butter truffles that I’ve packaged up to give to my best girlfriends, the ‘pub ritual’ of sharing hot chips amongst friends.
Small things, but infinitely beautiful xx

small things are the best things…hands down, every time Laura. Give me something from the garden with a little attached dirt still to be found compared to a bottle of champagne any day. Actually I gave a bottle of organic wine to a fella on Gumtree yesterday for some free bush rock he was giving away. He seemed tickled pink, as wasn’t expecting it.
ps. sprouting celery sticks eh? I haven’t but now I need to!

How do people spend a whole day in there ‘window shopping’ or just hanging out?…How??

Last week I spent a day in the Southern Highlands. I found an outdoor fruit and vegetable market and went in and bought a box load of local produce. Like you say, it was a very satisfying shopping spree that Westfield can never compete with xx
