Loving… The Lull of a Train

The train gently rocks from side to side. Lulling me into a sleepy submission. I ignore the muffled conversations around me, the book closes softly and I let my thoughts wander. It’s a novelty these days and I embrace it.

Loving… Tea for Two

Cucumber sandwiches with the crusts cut off. Scones with jam and cream. Tea sipped over chuckles with my nana. I don’t take this time for granted. I know at different points in her life there could have been completely different outcomes. We high five each other happily for being alive still- she’s that kind of nana.

Loving… Catching Words

Plucking words from the air, rearranging them, and then trying desperately to make some sort of sense of them. They can be uniform in shape, nonsensical in their line up, or simply lost. But occasionally? Occasionally they fall just as they were meant to be. Captured within that micro second and dragged to forever with pen and paper.

“Often life’s pleasures pass us by simply because we don’t take a moment to focus on them… Make a point of noticing everyday something that uplifts your spirit or tickles your heart… Stop to breathe in the joy of this moment and then tell someone about it. Share your joy and revel in it. When your joy is savoured, and then shared, it is magnified…” ROBIN GRILLE]

What are you loving?

  1. Lovely, Brydie! I think your word catching is going beautifully… I’m loving Autumn at the moment, especially crisp mornings by the lake, and it being just cool enough to enjoy putting on a cardigan and having a warm mug between your hands…

  2. Good morning Brydie. I look forward to your blog each and every Sunday! That dining room looks like a special place. You even manage to make that train station look beautiful! What a special nana.

I am loving watching my daughter ride her horse, make mud pies, read books and draw pictures. Wishing you a lovely Sunday x

  3. Loving … that awesome picture of Platform 13, I’ve never seen it quite from that angle before. Gosh you have an eye with your camera!

Loving … Sunday morning after the market, a cup of coffee and a visit to Brydie’s blog.

    • there had been a flurry of feet to avoid rain and suddenly I had the platform to myself Rose. I had another image in my head, but I wasn’t so sure the station attendants would have appreciated my laying down on the platform while people trampled around me…next time eh 🙂

  4. Gorgeous pink anemone, the grandest of the grand of deco doors (although we have a bank with HUGE copper doors over here that would give it a run for its money). You must have been up mighty early to get that platform devoid of pedestrians Ms Cityhippyfarmgirl, or maybe you just shouted “FIRE!” and after they all ran you got down on the ground for your art…words are true art. They can be broken up, reshaped, rearranged and can completely change depending on how they are spoken and received. They are our one true leveller. I think that tea is almost as universal a leveller as words. Anything discussed, postulated, proposed or contemplated over tea is powerful mojo. I love the mojo you share with your nana 🙂

  5. That my husband dragged me out of bed this morning and said, I want you to see this….so standing in our backyard in our pj’s, we watched as the morning sun’s rays turned the clouds pink. Loving that our 29 year old daughter has come home to Australia, after living in Scotland for 2 years!
Thank you for sharing your stunning photos and beautiful thoughts with us.
