I’m trying to remember to do quite a few things at the moment. Lists are being made, crossed off, lost, restarted, and scribbled upon. The end of the year where everything comes to a halt. Classes are finishing, teachers are changing, christmas decorations have been hung and there is a buzz in the air that is beginning to mount. But not before I go through my multiple lists.
Thank you biscuits for the dance teachers.
Thank you biscuits for the soccer teacher.
Thank you biscuits for the school teacher.
Goodbye biscuits for the school class.
Christmas biscuits for the neighbours and friends.
Now if only I could remember to take them when I go and see them.
This year we’ve done the festive bundle of sticks again. It feels right. Fifteen minutes of collecting fallen sticks from outside, held together by a ribbon and then decorated by the boys. Simple, environmentally friendly, space saving, and most importantly….I can put it up high. If I didn’t, little fingers would be breaking off everything she could and jamming it into her mouth for a little stick flavoured snack.
How about you?
Working your way through any lists? Anyone else doing Christmas sticks this year?…and sunflowers, aren’t they beautiful.
There is something about seeing them that just puts a smile to the face and a little dance in the toes. Seeing them in unlikely places, like a city side street… just makes them even sweeter.
I love lists too Brydie, such a wonderful invention indeed! You sure sound busy 🙂 I’m hoping my sunflower seeds come up, they seem very slow though 😦

Loving your post and capture – love the pop of yellow! I just finished my holiday shopping and holiday cards yesterday. Now I am just relaxing and enjoying the Holiday with my greatest someone. I am also checking off the weeks in my recovery for my lower back – about 5 to 7 weeks to go. Happy Sunday:)

It’s been a busy time around here too and I’m having a hard time keeping all of my lists straight as well. I love the idea of a bundle of sticks. So much easier to manage than a tree! I’m having a hard time wrapping my mind around the idea of Christmas and sunflowers going together though!

Sunflowers, mangoes, peaches, cherries and the beach Ada… That’s how we do Christmas round these parts 🙂

Oh, Brydie, I’m a list maker and have been for a long, long, long time. If I didn’t do lists, I’d never get anything done. I like your sticks tree. We are finally putting up our tree. Finally got the Hubs to bring it in and set it up. I love sunflowers. You are right, they put a smile on your face not matter how you are feeling.

Love your little bundle of stick idea. I have just the place to put them! And your cookies (biscuits, sorry) Brydie, what says thank you better than that? xx

The sticks are easy aren’t they Spree. Collect them, decorate them and then put them back outside. A very sustainable way to festively decorate!

Sounds like a lot of biscuits! We have our tiny fake Christmas tree out again and I did seriously consider sticks in place of it (because it is just a little sad, although when decorated comes into the Christmas spirit). I’m holding on to it in the knowledge it probably doesn’t have many years left 🙂
Hope those sticks do stay away from your hungry daughter – your biscuits are probably a better snack option for her 😉

Just an alternative to either a plastic or real Christmas tree Angela. We collected an assortment of fallen sticks, hold them together with a ribbon, propped up in a large tin and then the little people get to decorate it in a Christmassy fashion.
