“Often life’s pleasures pass us by simply because we don’t take a moment to focus on them… Make a point of noticing everyday something that uplifts your spirit or tickles your heart… Stop to breathe in the joy of this moment and then tell someone about it. Share your joy and revel in it. When your joy is savoured, and then shared, it is magnified…” ROBIN GRILLE
loving this week
some seasonal strawberries still trickling through
regifted wool stashes, not by one but two people this week
meeting up with my Wednesday group mama’s
feeling incredibly lucky as a blog reader sent me a picture of her precious, precious newborn
reading about my very own newborn- our homebirth story in a magazine
eating seasonal food that feels good for the soul
listening to Little Monkey enthusiastically sing a Spice Girls song walking down the street (where did he get THAT from? said Mr Chocolate…ahem, no idea.)
spending the whole afternoon taking funny pictures with our little family
experimenting with a quinoa and rhubarb pudding and liking the results
starting the school holidays with popcorn, smiles and a deep exhalation

Hi Brydie, your week sounds lovely : )
Mine was a little tougher due to various things, chief of which was my uncle passing away quite suddenly and lots of stress with work, however there are still things to love . . .
I’ve loved having a whole weekend off and not having to go into the office. I’ve loved catching up on much needed sleep. I’ve loved dinner out with the girls, as well as lunch and movies on Saturday with a couple of girlfriends. I’ve loved buying two new pairs of Summer shoes (but I don’t think my credit card will love it so much)! I’ve loved the gorgeous Spring weather in Melbourne – it’s been great to see the sun! I’ve loved being able to hang washing outsiden to dry in said sun, and I’ve loved pottering around the house and spending time with my much loved cat. Finally, I loved being alive, counting my many blessings and taking nothing for granted xx

Beautiful Keri. It’s lovely taking a moment to concentrate on the good things that are happening around you, along with the harder things that will always happen. (I’m really sorry to hear about your uncle.)
I hope you find more Spring Melbourne weather to wear those new shoes while hanging out the washing on the line 🙂
Give your feline a scratch behind the ear for me… (I miss having a pet!)

Sounds like an awesome week. This week I am loving getting things done. Having that completed euphoria! I am also loving that I am a week away from holidays! A week with huby and the kids sounds just right.

Oh hooray for that Lisa. Holidays are always a good thing to look forward to. (I’m looking forward to mine and it’s still another three months away!)
Enjoy your time away husband and kiddo’s.
(and I totally agree, completion euphoria is always good.)

Lovely photos – the strawberries are captured so perfectly – and strawberries really do seem to be what this spring is all about.

They are aren’t they Johanna. I haven’t utilised them enough this season. I keep mentally making lots of things with them, but don’t quite get around to most of them.

Reading your post is one very lovely part of my weekend, Brydie! Thanks so much for sharing your little moments.
I’ve enjoyed the love of my sister- so clear and bright in the murkiness of not feeling well.
The times spent with my sons and watching their lives and families become beautiful and stable.
Listening to thunderstorms from a warm and dry front porch
The fragrance of bread ready to come out of the oven.

Beautiful Heidi. You reeled me in with the thunderstorms from a warm dry porch. One of my very favourite things to do… well it would be if I had a porch. But a girl can dream…

A lovely post Brydie. You take beautiful photographs, and I would love to hear more about the home birth. Is it in your archives? I had a good week, spent two days staying with old friends (I used to work for them), my son and daughter-in-law threw an enormous party and I enjoyed helping them, then yesterday I went up to Toowoomba for the annual Carnival of Flowers. Today I’m looking after my two little grandsons as it’s the first day of school holidays. Phew! I’m having a lie-in tomorrow.

Jean I hope you got your lie in, you’ve been busy! But good busy it sounds like.
My homebirth story, I haven’t put it on the blog. I’ve ummed and ahhed and still haven’t come to a conclusion about whether to put it on there. In a nut shell though it was truly wonderful, and if there was ever any more babies, they would only be homebirthed, as there was simply no comparison with my other two births.

I’d love to have that quote printed somewhere I can look at it frequently, it’s a ripper! You inspired me to do a loving post last week – it was really helpful in getting me to focus on the good around me, thanks!
