Hello…what have we here?
Banana Chocolate Pecan Cake
Oh Mama…delicious
How about a little more?
*****
Banana Chocolate Pecan Slice
50gms dark melted chocolate
75gms melted butter
3 bananas
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 1/2 cups s/r flour
Bake at 180C for approx 20-25 minutes.
A surprisingly tasty and simple cake. I had left over melted chocolate, and bananas that needed attention. Not too showy. The honey, banana and chocolate all seemed to harmonize well together. Not one of them jumping up and and vying for attention. Little Monkey approved.
Honey, Banana & Chocolate blend beautifully I agree…., I think these 3 have one of those taste marriages that some friends have, its hard to know where one starts & the other finishes. Nice one.

They do don’t they Anna. I’m not sure why those three ingredients work so well. They do blend wonderfully though. (They taste good in a smoothie too)…and that’s a lovely thought with a marriage.

and a slight digression…..The very first Dan Lepard recipe I cut out of the Guardian was one called Saucy Monkey. It sat on my pinboard for two years. I still haven’t made it, how crazy is that? But maybe it’s been waiting for you in my memory. Here’s the link http://www.danlepard.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=479&hilit=saucy+monkey

Oh and Saucy Monkey sounds tasty! That recipe will definitely get some consideration.

The cake sounds delish- slice- is that when a cake is only one layer?
and those pictures are wonderful! I have a whole series of my youngest looking rather longingly at gingerbread creations.- thanks for sharing a view into the happiness of your boys with their sweets!
btw- thanks so much for the artwork from the boys and the book-
it made me very happy!

You know what Heidi, I wasn’t sure either. I had written slice, then deleted it and put cake. It’s a cakey-slicey thing 🙂
Glad you liked the little package too.

I thought at first those were mini-chips in there, but it’s the pecans! I might not be able to resist adding some chocolate chips too.
