Almond and Raisin Sourdough
The underside of the Almond and Raisin Sourdough. A toasted almond crunch to a slice.
Wholemeal sourdough.
Sunflower and Linseed Sourdough Panini.
Date and Pecan Sourdough
350gms starter
600gms flour
2/3 cup chopped medjool dates
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 tbs raw sugar
good shake of cinnamon
1 1/2 tps salt
I made this sourdough on the warmest day so far that I have toyed with the sourdoughs. Consequence- a lighter sourdough then I would normally make as it rose so quickly. I did two lots of folds in between proves. Verdict- um yes please! (My mum liked this one too, and said that I could make some next time I came down to visit. Have starter…will travel.)
Lovely photos, Brydie! So glad to see you’re enjoying the sourdough journey – you know you’ll have to start buying flour in 25kg bags soon.. 😉

Oh Celia if only I had the room I would be! Have to be content with the 12.5 kilo for now. I’m totally addicted to the whole sourdough journey, its quite funny how excited I get seeing how it will come out of the oven. Every time it’s different.

I’m always secretly jealous & not so secretly impressed with Sourdough baking, I never really mastered it, so this gets a big thumbs up from me. Lovely photos too Brydie.

I’m not sure I could go back to just making yeasted ones now, its an addiction that must be fed…just like my starter. I don’t have stars in my eyes I have lumps of sourdough… The almond one is great for toast.

Thanks Heidiannie. I have been playing around with plaiting my sourdoughs (thanks to you!) and am really happy with the results.
It does make a difference having something to feed consistently.
Christine pecans are good aren’t they!
Yvette there are so many delightful breads in Italy you don’t need too 🙂
